It is no secret that I am a makeup junkie. I'm willing to try
anything once, makeup that is. Today, I thought I would 
share my makeup misses. These are the products
that I had high hopes for but they left me disappointed.
In no particular order..

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® Universal Daily Peel

This peel did nothing but make my skin burn.

I don't mind a little tingle but burning. 

No, thank you! 

Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer

Truth be told, this gave me flakes.

I have never had this problem with any Bumble and Bumble.

In fact, I'm a huge fan of their products.

But this stuff, wasn't a fan at all.

As soon as I stopped using it, no more flakes!

Lancôme BI-FACIL - Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

I wear waterproof eye makeup. I was told this

was great at removing it. It wasn't. 

I had to use so much of it to take it off

and it left  this terrible residue which would burn my eyes.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil

Oh, I had high hopes for this stuff.

All it did was make my makeup break apart,

it was horrible. One day it was so bad, I had

to do my whole face all over again.

I tried using it with different moisturizers but 

it still had the same results. 

Those are my makeup misses.
 I do love my Play! by Sephora
subscription box. It's a great way to try new products
and it's only $10 a month.To me, it is worth it.
Plus, I love trying new products.

Everyday Makeup Faves

Today I'm talking about my everyday makeup faves.
These are the products, I use every single day.
They have become my favorites.

Pixi Flawless & Poreless Primer
To be honest, I change primers alot.
I sort of feel one works well for awhile and then just stops working.
Maybe it's me, I'm not really sure. I have been using this primer lately and really like it.
This primer helps to minimize my pores and helps to keep my makeup looking good all day.

Nars Larger than Life Long-wearing Eyeliner
I love this eyeliner! It doesn't move and goes 
on very smoothly. It literally lasts for hours.
I wear the color Rue Saint-Honor, it is a deep royal blue.

YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Babydoll Mascara 
I have tired many many mascaras and I 'm always going back to this one.
It just makes my lashes look thick and voluminous. It also
does not flake off nor smudge which is why I love it so much.

Bare Minerals Bareskin Serum Concealer
This is one the best concealers, I have ever used.
Concealer is another thing that I'm constantly changing.
I have been using this one for a few months now and 
really like the coverage it gives. It also does not cake
under my glasses which usually happens with most concealers.
The only thing is I find that it does wear off after a few hours
and I have to reapply. 

La Mer The Powder
This is a setting/finishing powder but I use it 
as foundation. It makes my skin look flawless.
While pricey, you only need to use a little bit of it.
A little goes a long way. Well worth the money. 
I'm still using the jar I got over the summer.
And yes, I use it everyday.

Urban Decay Lipstick and Lipliner in Liar
I have been wearing this color since finding it last year.
It's a good replacement color for my Tom Ford, Pink Abode, which
was discontinued a few years ago. Sometimes, I mix the lip pencil 
with other lip colors but for the most part, wear these two together.

Hourglass Ambient Lightening Palette
(not pictured)
I use this as my bronzer/highlighter. I LOVE this palette.
You can use the colors alone or all together.
It just give you a nice natural glow.
I have heard this pallette works better on paler skin
than olive skin. I'm pretty pale so it works perfectly.
However, if you have olive skin, you may want to try it 
before you purchase it. This palette is pricey.
For me, it is well worth it.

That is my everyday makeup faves.

I will be honest, I do not leave the house without some makeup on my face.
 Call me vain, but I do not feel comfortable leaving the house
without some on. I feel more confident when I'm wearing makeup.

People always comment that it never looks like I'm actually 
wearing makeup. But trust me, I am. The key is to use makeup 
to enhance not cover up or hide. That is just what I do.

Weekending-Twin Travels

Twin Travels

In a few weeks, JenniSixx and I will be traveling to London.
To say that we are excited is an understatement. 
We spent the weekend getting our outfits together and compiling a list of places to visit while there. We also will be meeting up with some friend which is always fun.
This winter has been long enough and we are both looking forward to being away from it.
While it won't be super warm in London, it will still be warmer than here.

The outfit above is one of the exact outfits I plan on taking.

The thing I give most as a gift is the Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Everyone loves them and they love the collectible tin. 
In fact, one friend was somewhat upset at me last year that I didn't buy her them.
I did end up sending her some as I felt so bad.
I already stocked up on them for this year.

Black Friday Shopping

Today is the big day, it's Black Friday!!
Woohoo!!

Time to get shopping!!

Actually, this is the one day that I avoid the stores.
If I was going shopping, I would totally be wearing the outfit above.
It's really perfect for shopping. 

To be honest, I have most of my shopping done and I feel that 
 the sales today are not the best of the season. 

Personally, I feel that Monday, December 1st, aka Cyber Monday, is better.
Also, the stores have better deals closer to Christmas.

May Flowers

This week's outfit theme is May Flowers.
It was inspired by my walks through the Boston Public Garden,
where they have the most beautiful Tulips planted.
The Tulips are only around for about two weeks before they wilt away.
While I love going to see them, they drive my allergies crazy.
So no more visits with the flowers which makes me very sad.
For the time being, I have to view from afar.

Kentucky Derby 2014

This week's outfit was inspired by the Kentucky Derby.
Actually, I just wanted to use that big floppy hat!!
How fab is it? Who doesn't love a big hat??!
I wish I was going to the Derby, so that I could wear a big hat.
To me, that's the best part of the Derby.

Friday's Outfit

This week's outfit was inspired by Duckling's in Boston's Public Garden.
 They were all dressed up this past week for Easter.
 Plus, it was also the kick off to the Swan Boats returning to the water.
After a very long winter, it's nice to see the sun and enjoy the warmer temperatures.
 Even though, they will soon be disappearing (back to the 50's and rain).
While I'm not the biggest fan of the color yellow,
 there is something very calming about soft yellow.
It reminds me of summer which everyone is looking forward to.

Back to Basics

This week's outfit was inspired by the basics. The basics of fashion that is.
I took a simple outfit and added some color and accessories to make it pop.
Everyone should own a pair of skinny black pants and a tunic. You can dress it up or down.
I stick to basics and use accessories to make my outfit feel difference.
As well as stand out. Let the accessories do the speaking.
Never forget the power accessories can have.
They can make or break an outfit.

Also, a bright pink lip can make any outfit feel more glamorous.
I have been rocking bright pink lips for the past few weeks and can't get over how
 many times I have been complimented on my outfit and/or my lip color.
When I wear my normal pinky nude, I don't get nearly as many comments.
I truly believe it's my lip color.  If you are wondering what lip color

Finally, the weather has improved around here. Sadly, it's not going to last.

 It's suppose to rain this weekend. Perfect time for me to break out the Hunter boots above.  

I recently purchased them and I LOVE THEM!! They are so comfortable!! 

What I love about them is they are really comfortable. I walked around London all day and had no problems. Usually, I find rain boots to be uncomfortable and they make my feet hot. 

Not these ones, they were awesome.

Leggings are the greatest things to travel in.
You can be stylish yet comfortable.

This week's outfit was inspired by my blush, Orgasm by Nars.

 To be honest, the name of it makes me blush. No pun intended.

Hence it was my inspiration for this week's outfit.

What I love about this blush is that it gives a very natural glow, like I'm blushing.

I thought it was going to be orangery but it's more like a pink shimmer.

It's probably one of the best blush color on the market.

Lady Like

This week's outfit was inspired by my own wardrobe.
For the past few years, I have found myself getting away from trendy pieces and focusing on classic pieces that never go out of style.   It all started when I found myself with nothing to wear but a closet full of clothes. Every morning, I would waste time trying to put to together outfits. Not only was I wasting time but I found myself getting upset. In fact, I was getting so upset it would ruin the whole day for me. That is no way to start the morning off. I knew something had to change. So I changed my shopping habits. Now,  I try to buy classic pieces that can be worn in  many ways and last longer than a season. While it is still a struggle, I do find myself staying away from trendy pieces and that includes the latest "IT" bag.
True story, I bought my Chanel Jumbo Flap almost 6 years ago, EVERYONE made fun of me for it.
 They would say it's such an old lady bag, you should get something fun, blah blah blah.
 Now, that bag is all over the place and costs over $4K.
I paid less than half of that and its still in style.
Can't go wrong when you pick classic pieces.

Blue & Beige

This week's outfit was inspired by my booties which are similar to the ones above. Due to the lovely winter weather, I haven't been able to wear them much.
Ok, it's more like they have been worn twice since Fall.
 I'm patiently waiting for the weather to get a little better so I can wear them.
That's the worse part of winter, all you do is wear snow boots!! I'm like a broken record seeing as I discussed this last week as well.

But DAMN'T, I want to wear my cute shoes again!!
Cute shoes can make or break an outfit.
Right?? LOL!!

Monday Morning Gossip-Winter Skin

Today I'm gossiping about my Winter Skin Routine.

      

This winter has been brutally cold and quite snowy. I don't remember such a cold winter.  It  has been even harder on my skin.

I received a Clarisonic for Christmas. At first, I really didn't like it. It felt weird and it was making my skin go crazy. Turns out, I was over using it. Now, I use it about three to four times a week (usually at night). It has made a HUGE difference in my skin. For some they can use it every day but if you have some what sensitive skin, it is best to use only a few times a week.

• Philosophy-'the microdelivery' exfoliating wash
• This is one of the best cleansers I have ever used. It makes my skin so soft and bright. It's gentle enough for everyday use. 

• Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Clarity-Activating Toner- lightens dark spots and evens out my complexion.

• 
  

• Philosophy-'help me' retinol night treatment
• This stuff is amazing!! I noticed a difference in my skin almost immediately. It has made my skin look  clear and brighter. I use this a few times a week. Some use it every night but it was too much for me. 

La Mer

What can I say. It's expensive but it is amazing. It always makes my skin look supple and soft. I had stopped using it for awhile and my skin took a turn for the worse. As soon as I started using it again, my skin was back to looking normal. Love love this stuff. Although, it is expensive, a jar lasts a long time. 

I only use a little twice a day.

Clinique,All About Eyes 

I think this is one of the best eye cream on the market. It's hydrating and helps lighten dark circles. Little trick, I learned, after I put my makeup on, I dab a little on the sides of my eyes to brighten them. It really makes a difference. 

ROC, Sensitive EyeCream with Retinol

This stuff seriously helps lighten my dark circles. This stuff works as soon as you start using it.  A little goes a long way and really makes a difference. This is like my dark circles bestie!!

Spring Ahead

Today's outfit was inspired by the upcoming weekend weather as it is suppose to be warm and sunny. Spring like!! And when I say warm, I mean like in the high forties!! That is like a HEAT WAVE here!!  It's been so cold, so snowy, so nasty. This will be a nice break. Although, the bad weather will be back by early next week.  While I do love winter, I'm really tired of  wearing my snow boots. 
Snow boots, while warm and practical, they can be so heavy. 
They also aren't very pretty. I miss wearing my pretty shoes!!
Oh and of course, I miss using my nice purses too!!

Winter Gear

                               

This week's outfit was inspired by the weather!! 

It has been COLD COLD COLD and we have just had another SNOW STORM!! This winter has been brutal. 

I still LOVE winter but I do miss being able to spend time outside.

Right now, I can only be outside for about an hour before I start to freeze.

And with it being so cold, you really shouldn't be out for more than that.

Happy Valentine's Day! 

Or as I like to call it, Single Lady Awareness Day.Ha!

 My favorite thing about today is all the pink, the hearts, and the sweets!!
