Britian's Got Talent- Charlotte & Jonathan

Have you seen this video? I saw it for the first time yesterday and was blown away. Watch and see what I mean.

Wasn't it simply amazing? I was amazed by their talent and their friendship. My heart broke for them when they first came on stage, seeing that most people in the audience dismissed them simply by their looks. The audience was laughing and sneering at them, even the judges were. However, Jonathan and Charlotte proved them wrong, blowing the audience and the judges away. I thought they were both amazing. What talent and what a friendship.

The lesson here is Never Judge a Book By It's Cover. You never know what someone is like until you get to know them. What is on the inside is what matters.

What did you think of them? Let me know, I love hearing from you!

Best,
M.

Stand up to Bullying

The documentary, Bully, is sparking debate all across the county even before it's release. The film shows the raw details about the current trend of school bullying. The documentary has been given an R rating due to language which means those who should be seeing it won't be able to. The Weinstein Company, who are the producing the film, are fighting the rating and have had various celebrities help get the word out about this film.

Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead has filmed a PSA for the movie to help get the word out.

Bully will be in theaters on March 30, 2012. However, it will now be released with no rating which means the theater owners will decide who gets to see it.

As someone who was bullied in school and know the effects it has had on me, I think this movie should be shown in every single classroom in America.

Stand up to Bullying!

Were you bullied in school? Please share your story. I love hearing from you.

Best,
M.

Cherry Blossoms

As I was walking in the Public Gardens the other day, I came across the Cherry Blossom Tree. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the gift of the Cherry Blossom Trees from Japan to the United States. I find this tree to be beautiful and I love how it stands out in the Gardens as many of the trees are still bare.

I love Cherry Blossoms, I even have a purse with Cherry Blossoms on them.  Aren't the trees so pretty?

Figuring Color-ICA Boston

Figuring Color-ICA, Boston

Figuring Color: Kathy Butterly, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Roy McMakin, Sue Williams is the current exhibit showing at The Institute of Contemporary Art of Boston (ICA). It is approximately 65 works, all of which employ color and form to represent a metaphorical body. It will be on display until May 20, 2012.

While not a huge fan of Contemporary Art, I find the ICA to be a fun place to visit.  The exhibits are always very interesting even if I don't quite understand them. One of the best things about The ICA is, it has Free Thursday Nights from 5 to 9 pm every week. This is when I visit. Actually, I have only been there on Thursday Nights.

The ICA is located on the Boston Waterfront. It is an up and coming area with a few restaurants including one in the ICA. They also have a really cool gift shop, another reason to visit.

With the nice weather here, it's nice to sit in the outdoor area of the ICA which overlooks the water and just relax.

Have you been to the ICA?

Best,
M.

My Twin and I

JenniSixx with Dr. Bear

JenniSixx at Serendipity 3-NYC

JenniSixx and I

Since my blog is called, Twin Living, I thought it would be fun to do a post about my twin and I. We couldn't be more different.  For starters, we look nothing alike and are complete opposites. Almost polar opposites.

I'm right handed, she is left handed.
I'm type A, she is chil.
I like pop music, she likes death metal.
I like the preppy look, she likes the rocker chic look.
I like Norman Reedus, she likes Sean Patrick Flanery.
I like the color pink, she likes the color purple.
I wear glasses, she has better than perfect vision.
I hate my picture taken, she loves it.

However, we both LOVE to shop!! Some of our favorite stores are All Saints, Barneys, Bloomingdales, Nordstroms, Joe Fresh, Harrods, and Top Shop. We totally shop til we drop.

Once a week we have a Twin Day. Twin Day is the day were we spend the day together doing whatever we feel like. Usually it involves some kind of shopping. No one else is allowed to join us for twin day. It's just us. Sometimes, Twin Day turns into a day trip somewhere like Cape Cod or NYC.

She is also my HERO! She has been thru four brain surgeries in the last two years, lost her hair in the process and still has a GORGEOUS smile on her face every single day. I'm nothing without her.

There is only one thing we fight about, it is who is the funnier twin. It's me if you were wondering.

People are always shocked when they find out we are twins because we are so different but that is what makes us so close. If we were alike, it would be boring.

Do you know any twins? Are they alike or different?

Best,
M.

Fiori Di Capri by Carthusia

Many years ago while visiting the Island of Carpi, I had the pleasure to visit the Carthusia Factory. It was a small factory and I really don't recall much about it, other than you were able to smell each fragance and they would bottle it up for you right there. After smelling all five of the scents, I kept going back to Fiori Di Capri, The Flower of Carpi and had to leave with a bottle of it. It's been my go to scent for years now.

Fiori Di Capri

Fiore di Capri was the first Carthusia fragrance ever. The Mediterranean tones of wild carnation, lily of the valley and oak come together with the exotic aroma of amber, sandalwood and of ylang ylang in a fascinating melange, both joyful and unforgettable.

Sadly, it's quite difficult to find in the US, so now I only wear it on special occasions. Every time I wear this, I'm reminded of my time in Italy and it brings a smile to my face.

Learn more about here, Carthusia

Do you have a favorite fragrance?

Best,
M.

Bye Bye Winter

Winter barely showed up this year. No big snow storms, no bitter cold windy days, no nothing. As someone who loves winter, I was quite disappointed. I'm probably one of the few who really loves winter. I love to walk around all bundle up. Yeah, I'm crazy.

Everyday I try to get out and walk around the city, even on those bitter cold days.  With the weather expected to be nice all week, I'm looking forward to getting out and taking more pictures. I took these pictures on my walk last week .

The trees are still bare and the grass isn't green but it will be soon. There weren't too many people walking around while I took these pictures, which was nice. It was as if I had the city to myself.  Soon, the city will be filled with people.  Spring time is so pretty here in Boston and one of the best times to visit.

Where do you like to visit in the Spring?

Best,
M.

Vineyard Vines

I'm a prepster at heart so course, I love Vineyard Vines. They make some of the cutest preppy clothing around. This is what I'm loving right now.

Lucaya Tunic

Whale Tab Espridalles
Polka Dot Whale Flip Flops
Sandypoint Polo Dress
Derby Silks Clutch
Tie Stripe Patchwork Classic Tote
Patchwork Thermos

Cute, right?? I feel that they are just the right amount of prep and color. While they are on the pricey side, I find their quality to be quite good.

They also have a  few stores located in Massachusetts: The Shops at The Prudential Center in Boston, The Mashpee Commons in Mashpee, The Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham, and Oak Bluffs, MA.

Check them out at Vineyard Vines.

What are you loving right now?
