It is no secret that I am a makeup junkie. I'm willing to try
anything once, makeup that is. Today, I thought I would
share my makeup misses. These are the products
that I had high hopes for but they left me disappointed.

This peel did nothing but make my skin burn.
I don't mind a little tingle but burning.
No, thank you!
Truth be told, this gave me flakes.
I have never had this problem with any Bumble and Bumble.
In fact, I'm a huge fan of their products.
But this stuff, wasn't a fan at all.
As soon as I stopped using it, no more flakes!
I wear waterproof eye makeup. I was told this
was great at removing it. It wasn't.
I had to use so much of it to take it off
and it left this terrible residue which would burn my eyes.
Oh, I had high hopes for this stuff.
All it did was make my makeup break apart,
it was horrible. One day it was so bad, I had
to do my whole face all over again.
I tried using it with different moisturizers but
it still had the same results.
Those are my makeup misses.
I do love my Play! by Sephora
subscription box. It's a great way to try new products
and it's only $10 a month. To me, it is worth it.
Plus, I love trying new products.
This is not a sponsored post, I
just really love Sephora.
Now, it's your turn,
what products have disappointed you??
Let me know, I love hearing from you!
Best, Marie

Oh my gosh I'm sorry to hear you didn't like the Lancome eye makeup remover!! I can see the residue side of things, but I don't wear waterproof mascara, so I wouldn't know how it takes that off...I'm with you on the primer oil - it was terrible and felt like it left me greasy! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeletei love hearing about these lists bc then i know it's prob a good idea to stay away from certain products. horrible about the burning face! and boo on the bumble and bumble. ok well all of it. :)

i'm a big supporter of local brands so when a canadian all natural line launched, i was all over it...and sadly it did nothing but dry my skin out so bad! so disappointing :(
ReplyDeleteI have been disappointed twice now by smash box and I always used to think their products were so good!! Their browsers are terrible. Thank you for your honest reviews of the sucky ones to avoid, lol. Happy Monday!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so good to know about the Smashbox Primer Oil. I didn't like the photo finish foundation primer and I'm sorry to hear the oil was a disappointment too. I was thinking about giving the oil a try but I guess I will look for something else. Thanks for sharing and Happy Monday!

I love when people tell me what they don't like. Save a sister some money and heartache! LOL
ReplyDeleteYikes - glad to know this stuff!
ReplyDeleteI dont usually go out of my comfort level to try new things to not like :) haha
I appreciate your honest thoughts on these things. I love most Bumble and Bumble stuff but I don't think I tried that exact primer. I will stay away! And I love Lancome's eye make up remover....but I dont wear waterproof stuff so I could understand being disappointed in it if that was what you were going for. Lately I have been buying UP and UP's from Target because it is cheaper and basically does the same job as everything else out there on the market!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you did this post because I was thisclose to getting that peel and now I'm just going to skip it! And I'm with you on the B&B oil. It made my hair so greasy feeling! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the Lancome makeup remover, I am not a fan either.

It's great read some negative reviews sometimes - I mean all products can't all be perfect. I have trouble with the Lancôme eye remover, too. Just left so much behind.
ReplyDeleteI love the Sephora Play box! They've given me some great samples and there's always something new! I still haven't tried the Smashbox Primer Oil that we got a few months ago, but now I'm not sure if I want to try it. I love the Laura Mercier that I'm using now!
ReplyDeleteLoving this months Play box too! But sorry to hear about B&B's Invisible Oil and Smashbox's Primer Oil. Both lines usually can do no wrong! Cheers to a fabulous week <3

The only one I've tried is the Lancome makeup remover and I agree with you...I didn't like the results. Good to know about the Smashbox primer too.
ReplyDeleteI'm sharing my empties tomorrow! I love the Peel pads--they make my skin SO soft.
ReplyDeleteI love Bumble and Bumble products and this hairdressers oil is a favorite of mine. It smells so good and leaves my hair feeling amazing!
ReplyDeleteBummer about these products! But so good to know so I don't bother with them. Thanks for the honest review!
ReplyDeleteoh, how weird about the bumble stuff. i haven't tried any of their products but i've heard amazing things. also, sucks about the primer.. well, sucks about all of it haha. i hate wasting money on products that don't work!
ReplyDeleteI have a similar post in drafts! I love reviews, especially what NOT to buy. What were the B&B oil primer and Smashbox primer oil supposed to do? Sorry, makeup newb over here! Were all of these items from the Sephora Play box? Sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience with these, but thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteOhh no, the lancome makeup remover is the only one that works for me-- though I wish I didn't like it because it's so expensive! I've wondered about the Smashbox oil-- but oils can be so tricky and this doesn't sound like it worked well at all.
