Thoughts for Monday

Pinterest

I apologize for our absence.
Last week was really difficult, harder than we expected
and we dropped the ball on this little place. It's not easy losing someone
and when it is completely unexpected, it just rocks you.
Jenn and I want to take a minute and thank everyone for
the comments on the last post about our Dear friend Teddy.
Your kind words mean the world to us.

We were with Teddy the day before and we are left with so many
unanswered questions, so many what if's and to be honest, it sucks.  We failed
him and we didn't even realize it. And there isn't a damn thing we can do about it.
Our heart breaks for his family especially his mother who gave him life.
Parents are not suppose to bury their children.

Talking about suicide is not easy and we did think maybe not talk about it.
Cause who likes talking about uncomfortable things?
But, then we decided if we did talk about, maybe, just maybe
we could help someone in need and really that is all that matters.
No one should feel alone nor that they cannot ask for help.

During this difficult time, Jenn and I have found
some comfort in one of Teddy's favorite songs,
Broken Halos by Chris Stapleton

We hope and we pray that Teddy is now at peace
with no more pain.

And we thought this would quote
was a good reminder about life.

Isn't that quote powerful?
We thought so too.

Much love,
Marie & Jenn

  5. Thoughts and prayers are still with y'all! You're totally right that a parent should never have to bury their child.

  6. well said..
a parent's worst fear is losing their child.. and to think that their child was so unhappy that he had to end his own life.. I don't know how someone can get over that.

  8. That is such a powerful quote!!! Suicide is such a hard topic, because you just dont understand what that person was going through or thinking. I lost my best friend to suicide in high school. For the longest time I walked around just trying to understand why. I knew I would never understand it. I wasn't in her head. I like to think maybe if I did something different or someone else said something different, there might have been a better outcome. But in the end, you can drive yourself crazy thinking about that. I am sending you guys all the hugs right now. I hope there will be some peace for the family eventually. You are so right, a parent should not bury their child.

  9. I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending you and his family all the thoughts and prayers and I hope you both realize that you didn't fail Teddy as a friend. Sometimes people can have the right support system but still not be happy with themselves. Hoping your friend has found peace.
