Rockport

Over the summer, Jenn and I drove up to Rockport, MA.
It's a quaint little fishing town, north of Boston on
the tip of the Cape Ann Peninsula.

While the town is small, it's a charming place to explore for the day.
You can visit one of the town's five beaches, rent Kayak's, visit the numerous art
galleries, or just walk around town. It is probably one of the most
picturesque towns in New England.

The town is filled with cute little shops, art galleries and restaurants.
Since the town is surrounded by water on three sides, there are gorgeous
views all around.  We mainly walked around main street and Bearskin neck, which
use to be the fisherman shacks that now are stores, restaurants, hotels and
private homes. There are also quite a few ice cream and candy shops which
have sitting areas in the back on the water. Talk about beautiful views.

Rockport is a great place for a day trip or a short weekend getaway. Parking
can be problematic, but if you don’t mind a little walk, you will find parking on the
many side streets away from the downtown area. We have always enjoyed
going to Rockport. It’s great in the summer time, but it can get really crowded.
We went in the winter once, and a lot of the stores were closed, but it was
still pretty awesome. However, it was really cold!!

Are you fan of day trips? Where do you like to go?
Let me know, I love hearing from you!!
Best, Marie
