Eden Hand Arts

Oh Monday, how much I dislike you.
What is is about Monday's that give us the blues??

Today, I'm discussing Eden Hand Arts.
While you may not have heard of them,
you probably have seen their jewelry.
They are the original creators of the Cape Cod Screwball Bracelet.
These bracelets are sold all over the place but you can only get
an authentic one from Eden.

No other jewelry maker is authorized to
manufacture or sell them. However, many still do.

To be honest, I didn't even know this until
my friends who live in Dennis, MA told me
and informed me that I needed to get an "authentic" one.
I think they were a little horrified that I didn't have one.

Since discovering this place, I have visited every year adding to my collection.

They are a little quirky.
They don't have an online store,
they do not do anything through the mail,
 not even repairs.
They are only opened certain times of the year.
Also, during peak times (July & August), you actually have to get
tickets to shop.
They only take cash or checks.

Now, this does make people
upset but they have their reasons.

One, it a small family
owned company, they make all their jewelry
right there on the premise which is also
very small. They spend the winter making the jewelry.

Two, it's in a residential area which doesn't
have alot of parking. Nor can you park on the street.

Three, Massachusetts does have very strict fire code laws.
Since the store is so small, they are only allowed so many
people in the store including staff at a time.
They worked with the local fire Marshall and their neighbors to
create a plan that would keep everyone safe.
Hence, the tickets during peak season.

They have added a side window, where you just walk up if you
just need a repair or know exactly what you want.

Many people don't like that you can't just walk in.

In fact, every time I have gone, I have had to wait a bit to
actually get in the store and I don't mind.
I love looking at all their jewelry, they create a new piece every year
and they also make pottery.
(I always go before they require tickets.)

However, it is well worth it.
The ladies have always been very helpful and
accommodating to me.

I absolutely love my bracelets. I got my first one
five years ago and it still looks brand new.

Have you been to Eden Hand Arts??
Let me know, I love hearing from you!
Best, Marie
